How I Built Predictable Revenue in My Online Business
If you’ve ever felt frustrated about starting each month at zero, this is for you.
In the early years of my online business, most of my revenue came from live launches, courses, and workshops.
And it worked.
Courses made up about 75% percent of my revenue back then. Launch months were exciting. Big wins with big momentum.
But then there were the non-launch months.
And when my business became our sole source of income after we retired my husband, that revenue roller coaster started to feel heavier.
I didn’t just want revenue growth.
I needed stability.
So I started looking at revenue differently.
The First Shift: One Core Offer
The first big shift happened in 2023 when I launched my IGNITE membership.
By 2024, about 45 percent of my revenue was coming from that membership alone.
That meant I no longer woke up on the first day of the month wondering if the month would be zero.
I had a baseline.
And here’s something important.
While I sold other offers... all roads led to the membership.
It was my main core offer.
While the doors are open year-round, I intentionally launch it a few times a year. I nurture the community inside it. I treat it like the heartbeat of my business.
That focus made all the difference.
If you’re trying to build predictable revenue, ask yourself:
What is one core offer I can refine and relaunch consistently?
Not ten ideas.
Not constant reinvention.
One offer that becomes your foundation.
The Second Shift: Trust-Based Income
There was one other layer that dramatically changed my revenue mix.
Affiliate marketing.
Now, affiliate marketing is often described as passive income and in some ways it is.
But I see it as trust-based income.
It only works when your audience believes your recommendations are aligned and genuine.
Because I had spent years building relationships and showing up consistently, my affiliate revenue grew from about 3 percent in 2020 to 30 percent by 2024.
By 2025, it was generating nearly six figures on its own.
Here’s the beautiful part. It’s a win-win.
I partner with tools, products, programs, and people I already love and use. I teach how I use them. I share why they work. And when it makes sense, I include my partner link.
I don’t promote everything at once. I optimize opportunities when I’m already talking about them.
If you’re a course creator or coach not utilizing affiliate marketing, you may be leaving money on the table.
It often starts small, but it grows over time. It compounds.
My affiliate marketing strategy is simple:
- Use what you love.
- Teach how you use it.
- Share real results.
- Stay consistent.

How My Revenue Mix Evolved
Back in 2020, 75 percent of my revenue came from courses. Only 3 percent came from affiliate marketing. The rest came from one-on-one coaching.
Fast forward to 2024.
Only 15 percent came from courses.
45 percent came from my membership.
30 percent came from affiliate marketing.
That meant about 75 percent of my revenue was recurring or passive.
That was a massive shift from my early live launch strategy.
Live launches built my business.
But layering in membership and affiliate marketing built stability.
That stability allowed me to:
- Hire an online business manager
- Grow my team
- Move to Florida to be near our daughter and first grandbaby
- Create breathing room financially
Sometimes I still have to pinch myself.
Just six years ago, I started this online business with no idea it would retire my husband, allow us to move across the country, and create jobs for others.
But this didn’t happen overnight.
It happened because I kept showing up.
I kept refining.
I kept listening to my audience.
I kept building relationships.
My Rhythm Now
Our focus this year is simple:
- My IGNITE membership
- Aligned affiliate partnerships
- One core cohort-style offer that I open intentionally throughout the year
That’s it.
Three things.
- All three work together.
- All three are scalable.
- All three are relationship-based.
- All three are built around transformation.
That simplicity is powerful.
Designing Your Revenue Mix
If you’re trying to build predictable revenue in your own online business, here are a few questions to ask yourself:
- What percentage of my income depends on launching?
- What percentage depends on trading time for money?
- What percentage is recurring?
- What percentage is trust-based?
- And what would I like that mix to look like two years from now?
You don’t need a huge audience for this to work.
You need relationships.
When you listen to your audience and pay attention to what they’re asking for, you can build what they need in a way that also supports your family.
Predictable revenue doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens when you intentionally design your business model.
Courses built my foundation.
My IGNITE membership built stability.
Affiliate marketing layered in additional income.
Each season had a purpose, but the goal has always been the same:
Build income that supports your life and your family… while impacting others.
If you’re reading this thinking, I would love that kind of stability in my business, I want you to hear this clearly.
- It takes time.
- It takes consistency.
- It takes building relationships.
But if I can do it, you can too.
Keep refining. Keep listening. Keep going.
The rewards are worth it.
Remember, clarity and impact come from action.
